PANEER SPRING ONION

PANEER is an universal ingredient. It is used as a starter, in the main course or even as a side dish. Some common Indian paneer dishes include palak paneer, paneer tikka, paneer paratha, matar paneer etc...... The origin of paneer and the introduction of paneer to India is not definite. some say it was intoduced to Indians by Afghans, some say by Portuguese and so on. But, the fact is that India is having paneer as a part of its cuisine from centuries. North Indians especially often include paneer in their day- today meal. Today, in the menu is a starter recipe prepared using paneer. Starters commonly called as appetizers , consist of ambrosial multiplicity of foods that are eaten just before the main course. So, without wasting time let's start with this lip .- smacking starter 'PANEER SPRING-ONION'. Do you know the furtive of this recipe ?well, its the spring-onion. The fussy one's who dislike spring - onion , will surely start liking it after having this starter.

SIDE DISHES & STARTERS

Ingredients :
1) Paneer (cottage cheese) - 250 grams (cut in cubes)
2) Spring onion - 4-5 ( as they are of small size )
3) Spring onion leaves - about 2-3 cups fine cut
4) Garlic cloves - 10 - 12 fine chopped
5) Coriander leaves to garnish


6) Black pepper crushed - 1/2 teaspoon
7) Roasted coriander seed powder - 1/2 teaspoon
8) Roasted cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
9)Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
10) Mixed herbs -1/2 teaspoon
11) Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
12) Red chilly powder - 1.5 tablespoon
13) kasuri methi - 1 teaspoon


14) Butter - a cube
15) Oil to cook
16) salt as per taste


METHOD :
1) Cut paneer (cottage cheese) into cubes and marinate with chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala
and salt.


2) Add oil to a pan, add butter cube , onion (of spring onion), garlic and saute well.
3) Add spring onion and saute till soft.


4) Add cumin and coriander powder, crushed black pepper , salt and stir .
5) Add the marinated paneer, stir light handed and give it a toss.
6) Sprinkle mixed herbs and kasuri methi , stir and off the flame.
7) Garnish with fine chopped coriander leaves.
8) Serve as a starter.
