MASALA STUFFED BHINDI / LADY'S FINGER

Lady's Finger commonly known as BHINDI, OKRA or BHENDI is a low growing , perennial plant . Including bhindi in the diet helps control mucus by improving the digestive fire. There are various dishes prepared using bindi, to name a few are bhindi gravy , bhindi fry , bhindi sabzi , bhindi udad methi curry , bhi ndi thecha etc..... Today, I have come with a ' MASALA STUFFED BHINDI / LADY'S FINGER RECIPE ' blended with fresh coconut and spices , which will surely add on a piquant flavour to the taste and nutrition of bhindi. This is an easy to make recipe, goes well as a side dish with plain daal rice or sambar rice. Give this dish a try and add flavour and nutrition to your diet. so, let's get started with the preparations of 'MASALA STUFFED BHINDI' recipe.

INGREDIENTS:
1) Bhindi (okra) - 300 grams


2) Roasted Peanuts - 2 tablespoon
3) Til (sesame seeds) - 1 tablespoon
4) Fresh coconut (scraped) - 1 cup


5) Onion (fine cut) - 1

6) Coriander (finely chopped) - 2 or 3 stands
7) Red chilly powder - 1 tablespoon
8) Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
9)
Amchur powder - 1 teaspoon
10) Dhana jeera powder (roasted coriander & cumin seed power) - 1 tablespoon
11) Garam masala powder - 1 tablespoon
12) Lemon juice - 1/2 lemon
13) Asafetida powder - 1 pinch


14) Salt to taste
15) OIl for cooking


METHOD:
1) Wash the bhindi. Cut & make a slit on it as shown below.


2) In a mixer add scraped coconut, sesame seeds, and roasted peanuts and grind it to a coarse paste without adding water.
3) Except oil, add all the ingredients mentioned in the ingredients section to the ground masala & prepare a stuffing.
4) Fill the stuffing into the slit made on bhindi as shown.


5) Apply oil to a tawa & place the stuffed bhindi on it.
6) Fry well on both the sides.
7) I have fried both ways by applying rawa (semolina) and frying it plain. You can also try the same.
