Moong Daal Kheer (Split green gram beans pudding)

Kheer in marathi, Payas in konkani, Payasa in kannada and Payasam in other parts of south India, is a sweet dish usually made by adding jaggery or sugar. There are variety of kheers, having different tastes and textures being prepared in our country. Kheer plays a vital role in Indian platter as a dessert. Today, we are going to prepare' MOONG DAAL KHEER '. It is a comfort dish and light to digest. My Aaie usually prepares it on the days of fasting like sankashti, Vinayaki etc.... and so do I. Moong daal kheer is luscious, simple and easy to make dish and keeps one full for a longer time. many prefer adding coconut paste to this kheer, but I use freshly ground coconut paste to add extra flavour and creamy texture to it. Every state has it's own style of moong daal kheer preparation. Here, I have kept the process simple to make it in no time.
