'POTATO FRY'
Potato fry is a side dish that can be devoured by people of all ages without any fuss. It is easy to prepare & goes well with dal rice, solkadhi rice or sambar rice as a side dish. It is frequently prepared in costal konkan parts of Karnataka, Goa & Maharashtra because, people of these regions always search a substitute for fish or somethin fried like fish & potato fry is a perfect match they opt for. This potato fry mixed with some spices, smeared in semolina/ rava & fried till golden brown will surely tempt you to have some extra ounce of your meal. so, are you ready to gulp that extra ounce? Then let's start with the recipe.
SIDE DISHES & STARTERS

INGREDIENTS :
1) Potatoes - 4 medium sized
2) semolina - 7-8 tablespoon
3) Red chilly powder 1 tablespoon ( depends on how spicy the chilly powder is)
4) Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
5) Salt as per taste
6) Oil for cooking
METHOD :
1) Wash the potatoes and peel
2) Slice the potatoes into round shape ( neither too thin nor too thick)
3) Dip the potatoes slices in water to avoid oxidisation
4) Take semolina(rava) in a plate, add chilly powder, turmeric & salt to it
5) Heat a pan and brush a tablespoon of oil on it
6) Pat dry the potatoes partially on a napkin( otherwise the rava will get wet & will not coat properly on the slices)
7) Place the semolina coated potato slices on the pan
8) Cover & cook till the bottom gets crisp; add oil if needed, flip the slices add oil & fry till crisp add
oil if needed & cook on low to medium flame.
9) Make sure potato slices are fried on both the sides
10) serve them hot.

2) Potatoes are dense in nutrients containing essential minerals , vitamins & other micronutrients
3) They are high in fiber and help to satiate hunger
NOTE : Consume Potatoes in moderation as it has its adverse effects.
