CORN RICE

In today's blog we are going to try a simple and flavourful ' CORN RICE ' . Corn also known as maize comes from Mexico . It is a vegetable, fruit and grain. Corn also known as makka and bhutta is a most popular cereal grain in India. Corn is good to have on everyday basis . It is rich in dietary fiber and Vitamins . There are many dishes prepared using corn , to name a few are corn bhel , corn cutlet , corn chaat , corn soup etc...... The easiest way to have corn is either boiled or roasted. Today's ' CORN RICE RECIPE ' is a tasty and easy to make recipe. A one pot meal we can say. This is a simple recipe with a blend of mild spices with spring onion and corn kernals. I have added my own twist to this recipe with minimum ingredients. I am sure you will relish upon this rice and enjoy it to the fullest.

INGREIDENTS :
1) Basmati rice - 1 1/2 cup
2) Spring onion (leaves and onion fine cut) - 1/2 bunch


3) Onion - 2 medium sized
4) Corn kernels - 1 cup
5) Green chilly - 2 long cut
6) Fresh coriander - to garnish


7) Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
8) Red chilly powder - 1 tablespoon
9) vegetable magic masala - 1/2 tablespoon
10) Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
11) Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon


12) Oil to cook
13) Salt to taste

METHOD :
1) Add oil to a pan, add cumin to it and let it splutter
2) Add green chillies ( long cut ) , fine cut onion and saute .
3) Add fine cut spring onion and saute till soft


4) Add corn kernels, stir and let the corn cook on low flame for about five minutes


5) Add the turmeric powder, chilly powder , magic masala and pepper powder and mix all the ingredients well


6) Add cooked rice , salt and stir gently


7) Add fine cut spring onion leaves stir gently , close the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes


8) Your ' CORN RICE ' is ready to serve.
