CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY ( CURRY PATTA CHUTNEY )
'CURRY LEAVES' as we all know is the main ingredient of Indian culinary. Curry leaves are also called as karipatta in hindi , karibevu in kannada and phodna palo in konkani . Curry tree a native of India and srilanka is mostly found in hot climates . Curry leaves or sweet neem leaves are aromatic that are used in south Indian cooking to add flavour and aroma to the dishes like curries, chutneys , rice preparations , soups , veg and non veg dishes . In Indian kitchens the preparation of almost all the dishes either start or finish with the tempering of curry leaves along with mustard seeds, cumin seed , etc... Curry leaves along with its nutritious components add flavour to the daily cooking and aids digestion. Today in the blog we are going to see the preparation of ' CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY '. This chutney goes well with bhakri , chapati and phulka . You can store this chutney and use it as a side dish in emergency. It is packed with numerable health benefits, right from hair to heart . Let's start with this easy to make recipe.

INGREDIENTS OF CURRY LEAVES CHUTNEY :
1) Curry leaves : almost 3 - 4 cups of curry leaves
2) Split chick peas ( chana daal ) - 3 tablespoon
3) Dry coconut - 1/2 coconut
4) Asofoetida -1/4 teaspoon
5) Red chilly powder - 1 tablespoon
6) Tamarind size of one amla ( gooseberry )
7) Jaggery / sugar - 1 teaspoon
8) Salt to taste
METHOD :
1) Wash the curry leaves and dry,
2) Dry roast curry leaves , chana daal and dry coconut ( roast all ingredients separately for about 3-4 minutes on low flame )
3) Grind chana daal to coarse separately
4) Grind dry coconut to coarse separately
5) grind curry leaves separately
6) now add all the ground material and the other ingredients mentioned in the ingredients section to a mixer and grind everything for half a minute. Mix the chutney and taste it . If you feel you have to add some more salt or any other ingredient you can add and give it a pulse mode.
7) Take the ground chutney in a mixing bowl, mix it well and store in an air tight container. will retain taste for 8-10 days if stored properly.
